The purpose of this web site is to introduce those who work with children and youth with emotional disturbance or behavior disorders to psychoeducational theory and practice. Psychoeducation necessitates empathic understanding of the individual child, and involves the use of therapeutic interventions to foster cognitive, affective, and social development. Psychoeducational techniques are used by child care workers, school psychologists, counselors and special education teachers. -- Charles Chrystal |
